The Starbox is a small shelter nestled in nature, created during a collective building workshop organized by the Camposaz association for the Solan Farm. This project, combining creativity and craftsmanship, is designed to offer an authentic connection with the surrounding environment. More than just a simple shelter, the Starbox invites guests to experience the unique wonder of stargazing, thanks to its secluded location and the large sliding window integrated into the roof, which provides a wide and immersive view.
Small openings in the walls allow guests to observe local wildlife upon waking, turning their stay into a moment of discovery. The exterior cladding is crafted using the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique, which gives the wood a dark and captivating texture while enhancing its weather resistance. The larch wood structure, with its zig-zag pattern, creates a striking contrast between the blackened carbonized cladding and the natural hues of the larch, blending harmoniously into the landscape.
